Cartersville GA Cub Scout Pack

CUB SCOUTS PACK 15 CODE OF CONDUCT
Pack 15 has established the following Code of Conduct to provide scouts, parents, and adult leaders with a framework of expectations and disciplinary actions for all members of the pack based on the values of scouting. The values of scouting include training the boys to be respectful of the country and the flag; to be respectful of adults; to be respectful of other scouts; to be respectful of our natural world; and to grow to be responsible members of our community.
Leadership in the pack is the responsibility of all scout families. Some parents may volunteer for specific leadership roles in the pack and in the individual dens; however, overall, it is the responsibility of the parents to oversee the behavior of their scout. It is important that scouts be praised when they exhibit appropriate behavior and corrected when they exhibit incorrect behavior.
RESPECT
Our Adult Leaders donate many hours of their free time to provide a fun, safe and enjoyable scouting experience and should be given your respect. Directions given by Adult Leaders must be obeyed for the good of all Scouts.
Members of Pack 15 are expected to respect each other. Any behavior that injures, demeans, or offends other members of the Pack is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

ACTIVITIES
Den Meetings
Cub scouts are organized into age-appropriate dens which operate under the direction of the Den Leader and Assistant Den Leader. Den Leaders are encouraged to involve the boys in creating the den rules and the consequences for breaking them, and display them at every meeting. Den Leaders are encouraged to focus on accentuating the positive and rewarding good behavior. Parental involvement in Tiger den meetings is required. Parental involvement in Wolf, Bear, and Webelo den meetings is strongly encouraged.
Pack Meetings
Pack meetings operate under the direction of the Cub Master and Assistant Cub Master. The monthly pack meetings are more formal than den meetings and the Scouts are expected to wear their uniform. Parents are responsible for the conduct of their son at the meeting. Parents are expected to set an example for their sons and refrain from socializing until after the announcements/awards part of the meeting has concluded.
Camping
Camping outings may be organized throughout the year to provide an opportunity for the Cub Scout and parent/adult partner to experience the joys of camping. In order to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, a copy of Pack 100 Camping Rules will be provided to you prior to a scheduled campout.
UNIFORM POLICY
Scouts are expected to wear their Class A* uniforms to all Pack meetings, events, and award ceremonies (unless otherwise noted). Scouts are expected to wear their Class B** uniform (or higher) to all den meetings and nature outings (unless otherwise noted). * The Class A uniform is comprised of the scout shirt, including patches, plus the neckerchief with some sort of clasp. Scouts may optionally wear their scouting hats, belts, pants, etc. Scouts will wear their shirts buttoned up and tucked in. If hats are worn, they will be worn front and center. ** The Class B Uniform is comprised of a Pack 15 t-shirt.
DISCIPLINE
We recognize that for boys to grow into responsible men, they need to be held accountable for their actions. Therefore, any Scout who intentionally participates in an activity that has the potential to harm himself or Pack members, or behaves in a manner that reflects negatively upon Pack 15 or the Boy Scouts of America, will be disciplined. Behavior that is cause for disciplinary action includes, but is not limited to, the following:
• Not following the Cub Master’s or Leader’s directions.
• Significantly unsafe actions that may endanger himself or others.
• Exploring potential physical hazards (lakes, creeks, etc.) without permission and supervision.
• Leaving designated areas without the Cub Master’s or Leader’s permission.
• Use of cursing or foul language.
• Excessively rowdy, unruly, loud, disrespectful, disobedient, or disruptive behavior.
• Physical or verbal hazing or harassment of others.
• Use of any controlled or illegal substance during any Scouting function.
All Scouts, Parents, and Adult Leaders are participants of the Pack 15 and are representatives of their community, family, and local Scouting Council. Therefore, all Scouts, Parents, and Adult Leaders are asked to sign this Code of Conduct as a condition for participation. We want each Scout to be responsible for their own behavior, and only when necessary will the procedure be invoked to send a Scout home from their Den or Pack meeting or activity.
